Ukraine Challenge

Financial need - $3,500-5,000

Talk to Mike Ayers or anyone from his team last year and they will tell you that this village just outside of Kiev and Irpin has some of the worst conditions of any place that North Carolina has worked.  There is great poverty and spiritual need.  Last year is the first time that anyone has worked with this church or the children of this village.  The team did a great job breaking new ground.  A medical team from the partnership did work there for maybe a week several years ago.  (For more info on this, talk to Barbara Rash.)

First floor work has been completed and plans are in place to go up with the second floor.  Peter was meeting on January 24 with an architect to make firm plans for the church.  Kolya had recommended a man who is a good Christian contractor that has successfully finished many of the Baptist churches and kept them within a workable budget.

At present, the church continues to meet in a house and attendance is good.  The director of the village school and one teacher have become believers and they are teaching children’s Sunday School in two rooms of the school.  Peter is confident that these rooms will be made available for camp use.
