Kagarlyk

Jesus said, "Everyone who drinks this water will get thirsty again and again. Anyone who drinks the water I give will never thirst—not ever. The water I give will be an artesian spring within, gushing fountains of endless life."

John 4:14

    Opportunities in Kagarlyk

Guennadi working at Kagarlyk"We celebrated Harvest day in Kagarlyk at the end of September, but preparation started weeks before. Church members met and pulled weeds, cut the grass and planted flowers. As you see on this picture, some bricks on the windows were ruined. The next week my wife and I repaired the windows and painted the trim. Also, some problems with the basement and chimney were fixed. After these work days, the building was ready and presented a good view to the village.

Harvest Sunday at KagarlykAfter all physical preparations and prayers, God blessed the church with a lovely Harvest celebration. There were about 20 guests. Good songs were sung, poems were recited, we had good preachers and we enjoyed wonderful fellowship at the table afterward in the Ukrainian tradition."

Here are our plans for the next quarter. Please pray with us about them.

  • Continue to study and preach the Word of God.
  • Concentrate and pray more on each person's place in the Body of Christ--to help each member to find their places and ministries and do more in those areas.
  • With God's help by spring each church member should become a stronger spiritual soldier to start fighting for souls of men and to stand for Kagarlyk.
  • Organize and invite people to the Day of the Bible in November-to celebrate the day when the Bible was translated into Ukrainian.
  • Prepare, organize and invite people for Christmas and New Year celebrations.
  • Finish planning and start building the first Christian water well at Kagarlyk to be ready by spring 2012.
  • Prepare the church building for the winter time.
Ukraine Challenge would like to give financial assistance to the well project. Is there a better way to share the "water of life" than to share good clean drinking water with your neighbors? We understand the water in this village is quite polluted and unstable. Will you help? Send you check to Ukraine Challenge and designate: Kagarlyk Water Project
