August 15-16 ~  Travel days (Atlanta, Paris, Kiev).   We will fly with Janie Thompson and Debbie Files from FBC, Arkadelphia.  Pray that God will give us grace for all situations and totally "uneventful" flying.

We will all spend the night at our friend's church in Voron'kiv.  It is a big village about 30 minutes from the airport.  We usually bring teams here to sleep the night before they fly because of the location and accommodations.  Most volunteers have an incredibly early flight – 5:30-6:30.  Needing to be at the airport two hours early makes for a very short night and early morning.

August 17 ~ Connect Janie and Debbie with IMB missionaries, Kanoot and Sarah Midkiff, for a time of prayer walking and encouragement. Kanoot and Sarah are working with a core team from Kiev Theological Seminary to plant a church in a new area near to their apartment.  There are 50,000 people in new 26-floor apartment buildings, new shops, new schools but no church of any kind.  Pray that the Holy Spirit will prepare the way.

August 18 ~ Traveling mercy.  We will take Janie and Debbie to the Kiev central train station to catch the train to  Kharkiv.  IMB missionary Linda Gray will meet them.  They will go with her to several small villages for one-day women's meetings. This is their second year.  When it is possible, they will pray in the mornings with the Ukrainians in the square in Kharkiv thanking God for His protection for their city.

August 19 ~ Back to the airport to pick up Tom and Sharon Hensley from Barcelona Road Baptist Church in HSV. We will take them to a village called Holovuriv about 15 minutes from us.   They will spend 2 weeks with the pastor and his family.  The first week will be day camp (9:00-5:00).  The second week they will help with a construction project.  (I think it is winterizing rooms for overnight guests and SS.)   They know the pastor from their trip last year but they have never done anything like this before.  Tom & Sharon are in their 70s.

                *Janie & Debbie in Kharkiv

August 20 ~  Worship.  Not sure where but we will sing (in Russian or Ukrainian!) and Buddy will preach, using a translator, one of the three sermons that make up a 2-hour+ service. Sunday's are always a stretch. We will probably attend more than one service.

                *Tom & Sharon in Holovuriv

August 21-23 ~ Pray that God will bring us together with the people He wants us to see.  Peter Chernyavskyy is a pastor who needs a very specialized surgery to remove a malignant tumor between his bronchial tubes and lungs.  We have the funds that have been given to pay for that surgery. We need to see a couple of Ukrainian ministry partners, attend to the accounting, and maybe wash clothes.
